The city contains a campus of the Universite du Quebec, the Universite du Quebec en Outaouais (UQO). The Universite du Quebec en Outaouais (UQO) is a branch of the Universite du Quebec in Gatineau, Quebec. The Universite du Quebec has over 76,000 students, making it the largest university in the province, and offers more than 300 programs. The component institutions are:
the école de technologie superieure (ETS), in Montreal;
the école nationale d'administration publique (ENAP), based in Quebec City, with campus in Montreal, Gatineau, Trois-Rivieres, and Saguenay;
the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), based in Quebec City and a campus in Montreal;
the Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi (UQAC), in Saguenay;
the Universite du Quebec a Montreal (UQAM), in Montreal;
the Universite du Quebec a Rimouski (UQAR), in Rimouski;
the Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres (UQTR), in Trois-Rivieres;
the Universite du Quebec en Abitibi-Teiscamingue (UQAT), with campuses in Val-d'Or, Rouyn-Noranda, and other towns;
the Universite du Quebec en Outaouais (UQO), in Gatineau.
It is also the home of two provincial junior colleges (or CEGEPs): the francophone CEGEP de l'Outaouais and the anglophone Heritage College. If you're from real estate Toronto Canada, CEGEP is a stage of school between high school and university. The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has a campus in Gatineau.
Cegep de l'Outaouais (formerly known as College de l'Outaouais) is the biggest public college in the Outaouais region of Quebec. The CEGEP has several pre-university programs as well as technical programs. Among pre-university courses includes : humanities (three branches), natural sciences, "sciences, letters & arts" and "arts and letters". Technical programs includes, police techniques, computer sciences, multimedia, administration, office automation, dental hygiene, health sciences, documentation, genie mechanic, interior design, etc.
Heritage College is the only English-language CEGEP in western Quebec. The career programs are: Accounting and Management Technology, Computer Science, Early Childhood Care and Education, Electronics Technology, New Media and Publication Design, and Nursing. Pre-University programs are: Commerce, Liberal Arts, Science, Social Science, and Visual Arts. This College began as an offshoot of the much larger College de l'Outaouais with an initial enrollment of 7 students, then evolved into an official campus and eventually a college with an ever increasing population.
